Here are 2006's Important Tax Dates
IRS Tax DeadlinesThe most important individual tax filing date to remember in 2006 is Monday, April 17 (the annual deadline is extended a couple of days because the 15th falls on a Saturday.) Individual Filing Extensions
Monday, April 17, 2006 - Deadline for filing Form 4868 to request an automatic extension until October 15 for filing your taxes. This extension only involves filing your tax return. The tax must still be paid by April 17th.
Monday, October 16, 2006 - Time's up! This is the deadline for filing your individual return for the 2005 tax year if you received an automatic extension.
| Tax Deadline Relief for Hurricane Victims Taxpayers affected by these hurricanes get an extension of their deadlines for filing estimated taxes. The IRS extended the deadline for filing tax returns and submitting tax payments until Tuesday, February 28, 2006. (The extension also applies to calendar-year corporate returns with automatic extensions.)
